A Word From The Word
Rev. Kenneth P. Williams
First one must believe that God Is (Heb.11:6); also that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son (John 3:16) and that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us (Rom. 5:8). We must believe he was resurrected ; moreover, “that if thou shall confess with thou mouth the Lord Jesus and shall believe in thou heart that God has raised him from the dead thou shall be saved.” (Rom.10:9).
If thou canst believe all things are possible. All things are possible to him that believe (Mark 9:23) It is imperative that you believe. This is a kingdom principle (believe and receive). All things are possible upon the premise of belief. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive (Matt.21:22).
Belief comes before Faith. But without Faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Heb.11:6). Faith comes by hearing; and hearing by the word of God (Rom.10:17). You must understand that hearing is not automatic. In (Rev.2:7) it says, “he that hath an ear, let him hear what the spirit saith unto the churches”.
To have an ear to hear, one must first pray for God to open his or her ears. (Isaiah 50:5) states, “the Lord God hath opened mine ear:” There’s a difference between listening and hearing. Listening is the mechanical, physical process of analyzing, and evaluating information upon which one can decide to receive or reject. Hearing on the other hand is to believe and receive. Believing and receiving are synonymous. You only receive what you believe! There is no salvation if one does not believe!
First one must believe that God Is (Heb.11:6); also that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son (John 3:16) and that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us (Rom.5:8). We must believe he was resurrected ; moreover, “that if thou shall confess with thou mouth the Lord Jesus and shall believe in thou heart that God has raised him from the dead thou shall be saved” (Rom.10:9).
(Mark 16:16a)
“He that believeth and is baptized the same shall be saved.”
(Eph.2:8)
” For by grace you are saved through faith and not that of yourself; it is the gift of God.”
(Heb.11:1)
“So then, faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.”
(II Cor.4:18b)
” … for the things which are seen are temporary, but things which are not seen are eternal.”
(II Cor.5:7)
